Owners' Stories
“Simply being in nature restores balance.”
Shopping for ingredients to cook a meal, spending time by the fire—there’s a rhythm here that feels so different from everyday life. There’s nothing that you have to do. That quiet is what makes it so comfortable.
“Weekends that fosterfamily time.”
Our tradition is a two-night stay. After arriving, we don’t rush to go sightseeing—we take a walk nearby or enjoy a relaxed barbecue. The kids play outside, and we spend the evening slowly, watching the fire in the stove.
“A relaxed, canine-friendly spot.”
It’s nice not having to worry the way you do at a hotel, especially when traveling with a dog. We can stay at our own pace here. I come home feeling so refreshed after a trip—prompting me to plan the next.

A home where nature meets the rhythms of human life.
Mt. Asama embodies a sense of
timelessness and the surrounding fields
carry the beauty of everyday life. HIKE Karuizawa is where these two merge
together.
The architecture takes the form of a
fan-shaped row of connected homes,
opening the view from the southern
fields toward the mountains to the
north. Subtle level shifts, created by
the skip-floor design, invite a heightened
awareness of the surroundings—the
changing light, gentle breezes, and the
quiet presence of nature.
This is a place recreates the feelings
you find along a hike, nurturing further
gratitude for nature. We hope that the
discoveries you make here are
memorable and passed on to others for
generations to come.
